Hex glass

I modeled the pillars in Maya using a reference as a guide. To create the carved detailing of the pillars I used a boolean operation. I used a frosted glass shader for the hexagonal glass objects and rendered the images using Arnold. Originally, this scene consisted of just the pillars, coloured glass, and a simple skydome light for lighting but I improved it by adding a base wall for the pillars as well as an arched ceiling section. I also configured 3 different physical skies to accurately recreate different lighting conditions (day time/ sunset) and used images with emission shaders to create the backgrounds. I populated the scene further by modelling a large vase for decoration. I used the mesh sweep operation on a curve to create the handles and then used live surface and the quad draw tool to create the details on the vase surface.
