Harp

The distant cousin of the guitar! I modelled and textured this harp in Maya using an image reference for guidance. I used Quad Draw and Live Surface to create the gold details directly on the surface of the mesh so that it fit perfectly. To create the strings, I used the curve tool to place points leading from the top pins down to the soundboard, then I used mesh sweep to convert the curves to thin cylindrical mesh objects. I used 2 free wood textures to create materials for specific faces of the mesh. Lastly, I lit the scene and rendered it using Arnold renderer.
